Andrea Camilleri was born in Porto Empedocle (Agrigento) in September 1925.
After more than three decades working as producer and director in television and radio RAI, in 1978 he published his first novel since then never abandoned literature. He has published over fifty volumes of historical novels and civil rights, crime novels and the series that features Inspector Montalbano.
